To become a customer of HSBC Expat you need to hold a minimum of £65,555 or currency equivalent in deposits and/or investments with them. The minimum opening balance for an HSBC Expat Bank Account is: £5,555, $65,555 or €65,555 – and this counts towards your total balance.

If you are already an HSBC Premier customer, then you are not required to maintain a minimum balance of £65,555.
